I know what you’re thinking, what do we have against Bradford Pear trees? While we agree that they look pretty when they do their leaf change, we just have our reservations. Bradford pears are prone to a fungal disease called fire blight and by the time you notice it, it’s probably too late. The trees will start dying from the inside. They grow pretty quickly with upright branches and over time, their branches will begin to droop and eventually start to break off taking massive chunks of the trunk with them. They’re also an invasive species! They’re originally from China and don’t have very many natural threats in our area.  The last reason we don’t like them is that they STINK! If you have one, you know what we’re talking about. Anyways, let us know if you have any questions!
