Hydrangeas are a classic plant here in Louisiana, and are popular for their giant colorful blooms. If you’re a first time hydrangea plant owner, you may be getting worried about the appearance of your lovelies. In the fall, hydrangeas will begin to look a little out of sorts. Their blooms begin to lose their color, the leaves begin to wilt, and soon, you’ll be left with nothing but sticks. This is all just a part of their cycle, so don’t worry! When there is nothing left but sticks, you can take that time to trim it back if you think it has gotten too big, but otherwise, there’s nothing to be done. They will come back next year and you can enjoy them once again. Hope this helps and if you have any questions about hydrangeas or any other plants, let us know!
