Warm, humid months are here in Louisiana… which means increased termite activity. Termites are insects that feed on wood and decaying organic material… including parts of houses.

Every year, termites cause 5 billion dollars worth of damage. Unfortunately, termite damage isn’t covered under most homeowner’s insurance. The National Pest Management Association (NPMA) recommends fixing any water leaks around the home, routinely checking for signs of mud tubes, wood that sounds hollow, and visible wood damage. It’s also important to schedule a termite inspection at least once per year. Termite damage can be costly, so we recommend preventative action rather than reactive action.
