Although you may only see termites swarming in the spring, in reality, termites are an issue all year round! They can cause “billions” of dollars in damage, and in most cases you won’t know there is a termite problem until it’s too late. The problem with being reactive with termite damage is that termite prevention is considered part of home “routine maintenance.” Therefore, termite damage is not covered under your home owner’s insurance policy. The best way to be proactive is with termite prevention treatment. We prefer bait stations over liquid prevention. Bait stations are placed around the perimeter of the house, so the termites will feed on the bait, rather than your house. They will then carry the bait back to the colony, resulting in total domination! We hope this helps, and check out our knowledge base for more tips: matthewslandscape.com/search
