It’s January, so it’s time to apply pre-emergents to prevent summertime weeds. A pre-emergent is a weed application in the yard that helps prevent weeds from growing, while post-emergent treatment is applied after the weeds are already visible. Post emergents are a last resort, and an attempt to control existing weeds. If you get a pre-emergent application done, the yard must be watered within two weeks of the treatment. Your yard is okay to mow 24 hours after the pre-emergent.
