Poa Annua: A Cool Weather Weed

by | Mar 7, 2022 | Articles, Newsletters | 0 comments

One of the weeds that you may be seeing a lot of here lately is poa annua, or annual bluegrass. It is a cool weather weed that’s pretty common in our area. You can identify it by its yellow-green folded leaves. They also have small stems with clusters of white or green seed heads. This weed does not handle pressure well, so the best way to control it is by maintaining a healthy lawn through a good lawn program and consistent mowing.
