Let’s talk about pine straw. If you live in an area with pine trees, it definitely makes sense to install pine straw. Also, be mindful if you have a washing out problem within your beds, as mulch tends to wash out faster and more easily than pine straw. Remember, you don’t have to completely rake it out every time for maintenance either. In the spring, it’s ideal to remove all the pine straw, then in the fall, just add more to fluff it up. At the end of the day, it comes down to which option you like better and is more aesthetically pleasing to you.
