Maintaining Agapanthus

Now that we are approaching Summer it’s time to maintain your agapanthus. We get asked the question “What now?” once the agapanthus blooms have dropped. You have two options: Let the seed heads fall and the stem dry up or cut them now. Cutting them now is the perfect opportunity to clean up any dead or dying leaves that accumulate at the base of the plant. Removing this debris not only improves the appearance of the plant, but prevents the plant from exerting energy on saving the plant.
