It’s that time again when we might start seeing lawn fungus pop up. These cooler mornings and warm days create a perfect environment for fungus to grow. Over-watering and other lawn issues can also increase your chances of getting it. The two main types we see here are brown patch and take-all root rot. Brown patch looks like symmetrical, circular dead patches around the lawn, and root rot looks like random, spreading patches of dead grass. An early sign of root rot is highlighter green or yellow blades of grass. The best idea for both of these is to start treating the issue as soon as you notice it and confirm it’s fungus. We treat these with fungicides to contain the damage to smaller areas.
