Did you know that maintaining your landscape can help deter insects from getting into your home? One of the biggest landscape maintenance issues we see is making sure trees and shrubs are not touching your home. Even if you are treating your home regularly for pests, trees and shrubs that touch your home essentially create a bridge over your pest control barrier. This makes it easy for insects to invade. So make sure that when you’re working on your landscape, you are trimming back any trees and shrubs that may be touching the exterior or roof of your home. In this photo, the offending tree is a Crape Myrtle. While it is not the correct time to trim them, we can still make selective cuts in order to get the tree off of the house. Hope this helps!
