It’s gotten cold here lately, and we are hitting freezing temps around Caddo Parish. If you have outdoor plants, specifically tropicals, you’ll want to ensure they’re cared for so the frost doesn’t kill them.

If you have potted plants, try bringing them to the house where it’s warm. Putting them in a garage or covered area is still better than out in the open if that’s not possible. For your beds, material blankets are sold at most home improvement stores. You can cover your beds with them to protect them from the cold.

If you forgot before we reached freezing temperatures, don’t panic. Keep your plants slightly wet, and give them fertilizer once the frosts are done. There’s a chance they’ll bounce back in the spring.

If you have any questions about caring for your plants/lawn during the cooler weather, don’t hesitate to reach out. We hope you have a great day!
