Just Say “NO” To Weeds Wednesday

Nutsedge, also known as nut grass, is a weed commonly found in lawns during the summer. These weeds stand taller than the grass in your lawn and are notoriously hard to get rid of given their immersive root systems. Nutsedge is a perennial sedge, meaning it is a grasslike plant that can come back year after year. Typically, nutsedge is a sign of poor drainage or a watering issue. So it can result from excessive amounts of rain, overwatering, etc.. Since this weed has extensive root systems, (as long as 4 feet), pulling the weed by hand will most likely make it spread faster. Selective herbicides are the best way to deal with it! Let us know if you have any questions! P.S. Happy National Megalodon Day!
