Happy February 1st! This month, our lawn application includes a pre-emergent and an insecticide. The pre-emergent will help prevent summertime weeds, and the insecticide will control bugs in your yard, including ants. Pre-emergents put a barrier between your grass and the weeds forming underground.
The alternative to pre-emergents is post-emergents (like Roundup) that kill weeds once they’ve already sprouted. This is less effective and it takes more time to control the weeds.
