We’ve had a warm February, and you may be looking toward summer already. While you’re out enjoying the nice weather, don’t act too fast when it comes to your lawn. Grass is only starting to come out of dormancy, and we had a rainy start to the year, so it’s not time to turn on irrigation systems yet.

Over-saturating the grass could lead to disease, attract pests such as chinch bugs, and increase your chances of lawn fungus. Root rot and brown patch thrive on moisture and may be lurking underground even if you can’t see them.

We hope this helps! We’ll make sure to give an update when it is time to start watering your yard. If you’re interested in lawn maintenance, irrigation, landscape, and more, give us a call at 318-286-0967 for a free estimate. Have a good one!
