Finally…a fungus we don’t have to worry about! Have you noticed any small grey patches in your lawn lately? This is more than likely slime mold.This is easily identified by rubbing your finger across the top of the grass. If the mold comes off easily and there are signs of normal grass underneath, then chances are you are just fine! This fungus lives and feeds off of the organic thatch at ground level. As it tries to reproduce and spread, grayish black spots are visible. As the day warms up, it will just go away. If not, the next time you mow it will get knocked right off. Hope this helps!!!
