Fall Pre-Emergents: The Time is Near!

by | Sep 7, 2022 | Articles, Newsletters | 0 comments

When you think of fall pre-emergents, you think of winter weeds like clovers and such that will take over a lawn when it’s cold outside. While this is correct, be mindful that the most important weeds that will be prevented are the ones visible the following March and April. Most of the weeds seen during these months are actually still winter weeds, which lie dormant all winter, anxiously waiting to shoot up in early spring. You have two options to address this issue:

1. Be proactive and apply a pre-emergent (time sensitive).

2. Be reactive and attempt to kill the weeds after they start to grow.

Make the right call and get ahead of the game…apply your pre-emergents this fall and don’t fight weeds next spring! We hope this helps, and check out our knowledge base for more tips: matthewslandscape.com/search
