Earwigs are pests that are occasional invaders. That means they rarely come into a home unless outside conditions are unfavorable for them, which is why you may be seeing them inside right now! Earwigs prefer a happy medium between too wet and too dry. With this in mind, limit over-watering your grass and constant re-mulching of landscape beds around the home. Also, create separation of the mulch against the foundation of your home. The bare soil will dry out, making it harder for earwigs to get inside. Any trees or shrubs that are touching your home should be trimmed back. Another tip to consider is checking exterior door and window seals for any gaps. As for inside the home, be sure to wipe up any water spills as well as fixing any water leaks immediately.
