Happy Monday! Have you seen this weed before? This is dollarweed, also known as pennywort. It can be identified by its silver dollar/ lily pad-shaped leaves. Dollarweed loves moist lawns and can be found in bodies of water as well. If you do notice this weed in your lawn, it can be treated with a broadleaf herbicide in late spring.

The best ways to prevent dollarweed include maintaining healthy lawn practices such as proper mowing, watering, and fertilization. Having dollarweed can also be a sign your yard is holding excess moisture water in certain areas, which might be worth investigating.
