We’re getting a lot of annual color deliveries right now. One popular cool weather plant in Louisiana is the pansy. These 5 petaled flowers come in colors ranging from red, purple, blue, navy, bronze, pink, black, yellow, white, and more. These are compact plants- getting around 6 inches tall- that thrive in full to partial sun when temperature highs are in the 70s. Avoid watering these flowers too much, or planting them so deep the crown of the leaves is covered. Pansies planted in late October can typically live until late April. Dead-heading them will encourage them to grow as long as they can.
if you’re looking for a vibrant, Southern staple, consider adding pansies to your annual color.
