Weed & Feed Sucks…Period.
If you’re waiting until this spring to apply weed & feed and think that you are going to end up with a beautiful lawn, you’re wasting your time and money. The feed part only lasts 30-45 days and the weed part works “okay” at best. There is no prevention or pre-emergents either so you’re really not getting any benefits. Liquid pre-emergents applied months in advance is the only way to enjoy a truly weed-free yard. The seeds are already in the grass and they are just waiting for the proper time to germinate and start to grow. When you apply the pre-emergents in advance, you will keep them from ever growing. Later in the spring when you spread you fertilizer, it is game on! There hopefully will not be any weeds to compete with the grass and it will start to grow thick, full, and green!
