The Buzz Around Clustered Mountain Mint

Plant of the Week: Clustered Mountain Mint – A Pollinator-Friendly Native for Shreveport Landscapes

Rachel is here to highlight this week’s featured plant: Clustered Mountain Mint – a native plant that thrives right here in the Shreveport-Bossier area. This hardy mint variety is a favorite for pollinator-friendly landscaping, drawing in bees and other beneficial insects with its fragrant leaves and late summer blooms. While we were onsite, bees were buzzing all around—proof of its popularity with local pollinators!

Clustered Mountain Mint grows well in USDA zones 4–8, making it perfect for our Louisiana landscapes. It prefers full sun to partial shade, is drought tolerant, and requires very little maintenance, making it ideal for anyone looking to add beauty without the upkeep.

This native mint produces clusters of small, pinkish-white flowers from mid to late summer and is a great addition to any garden focused on sustainable landscaping or native plant design.
