Hey guys! My name is Garrett. I was born and raised in Shreveport and live here with my three children, Gunner, Gage, and Georgia Claire. I started my career working for the Shreveport Fire Department and took horticulture classes on the side. This is where Matthews Landscape started as a side business to support my family and fund a hunting habit! After 11 years on the fire department, I left to focus on the landscape business full-time. Customer service has always and will always be my main concern.

My name is Katie and I’ve been in operations at Matthews since August 2020. I have two girls, Ryleigh and Reagen, and they are the LOVES of my life and my most favorite people in the whole wide world! I like lots of Netflix and chill (like actually chill, ha) and eating snacks. I also enjoy hanging out with friends and my boyfriend, Daniel.

My name is Kayla and I am the Business Manager at Matthews. I am a data-driven person who has the benefit of working on account reconciliations, budgeting, leading the finance team, and doing my part in creating sustainable, long-term growth. I am thankful to work with a team that is so dedicated to our clients’ happiness while still focusing on the fun. While away from the business, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, traveling, and crocheting. 

Hello, I am Michael, the Marketing and Sales Manager here at Matthews. I have been doing Marketing for the last 15 years or so. Before that, I was in the Air Force for 10 years. When I am not here I like hanging out with my family, cooking, music, reading, and getting outdoors.

I’m Johnathan, and I came to Matthews looking for something different and found just that. I started as an hourly employee and was able to work my way into management. I’m responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of all of our services. With our crazy weather, there are always issues to stay on top of and new things to figure out. I enjoy being a part of this journey and playing a role in the growth and success of Matthews. When I’m not at work, I like shooting guns, cooking meat, fishing, and just being outside.

Hey y’all! My name is Kate and I work as a dispatcher at Matthews! I joined the amazing Matthews team in 2021 with a background in fashion, knowing absolutely nothing about landscaping. I enjoy my Matthews family and providing positive customer service. When I’m not at work, I love attending live concerts, collecting records, thrifting, and hanging with friends.

Hi y’all! My name is Meg and I’m a marketing coordinator at Matthews. I have a background in digital art and animation, and I’ve been here since June 2023. I love to create, learn, and try new things constantly. Being here has given me exactly that! When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my friends, drawing, and hanging out with my parakeets. 

Hey guys! My name is Ashley and I have worked for Matthews since 2015. In the past, I worked at various restaurants and other customer service positions but now beautiful lawns and landscapes are my passion! I’m a bit of a jack of all trades around here. I’ve held positions in the field, office, dispatch, and billing. I knew nothing about green grass or plants nor did I care but that has all changed since working here! I am married to Seth and have two beautiful daughters, who are my reason for everything!

Hey y’all, I’m Jake! I came to Matthews to continue my career of making people happy, and don’t think I could have chosen a better place. I have a GREAT wife and three kids, who my world revolves around. Landscaping has been my pride and joy my entire life. I helped my dad when I was a kid mowing grass, and my momma and granny gave me my green thumb for plants. But in the end for me, it’s just about treating the customer with kindness they’ve never received and leaving them with the best looking house in the neighborhood!

Hi my name is Sara. I’ve worked for Matthews for about a year and a half now. I started off in inside sales and now I’m an account manager and I really love it! When I’m not at work I enjoy cooking, reading, and spending time with my boyfriend and dog.

My name is Rachel, and I'm an Air Force wife and lover of nature. I am passionate about learning all that I am able to about plants, gardening, and animal husbandry. In my personal time, I am raising waterfowl, hiking with my husband, growing native plants, and playing with my 3 dogs. I can't wait to help you grow beauty and joy in your own yard and with our team @ Matthews everything is possible! 

Hey there, My name is Myles Cavazos and I am a Landscape Designer at Matthews!  My wife is Sarah Jean and we have two amazing daughters, Rylee Jean and Maddy Anne. We have 7 wonderful dogs! I was a paratrooper in the Army and now I have been in the Landscape world for some years and I’m loving it! I’m a cheer dad and I spend most of my time with my wife shuttling kids around to their cheer/tumbling lessons or serving with our ministry. I really enjoy helping people beautify their landscape as well as come up with solutions to landscape/drainage/irrigation problems. Let’s hear what creative ideas yall have and lets create a beautiful outdoor living space for you and your family and friends to enjoy!

Hey there! My name is Alexis and I joined the Matthews Team in June of 2020. I was hired on as the receptionist, quickly moved into the  Billing/Collections Specialist seat, and now holding the HR/Payroll Coordinator position. I am so thankful to work for a company that is not only dedicated to our clients’ happiness but to our staffs’ as well. While away from the desk, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and being out on the water. 

Hey Hey! My name is Candice and I have been in billing for over 15 years! I have 2 daughters that keep me busy outside of work and are my entire world. I have been with Matthews Landscape & Pest since May 2024 and have enjoyed every single moment! I started out not knowing anything about our services but I can say that I have learned so much and look forward to the future here at Matthews.

Hey! My name is Dylan. I manage things on the Pest & Termite side of Matthews. I’ve been in this industry since 2014 and have enjoyed every moment of it and the challenges it can bring. I enjoy interacting with clients and providing solutions to keep their homes pest and termite free! Ever since joining the Matthews team I have felt welcomed as if we were family. Outside of work, I enjoy being outside, spending time with family, and detailing vehicles.

 

My name is Will and I’m the Fert Manager here at Matthews. I started here in 2018 and really like the people I work with. My favorite plant is the agapanthus. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my two kids, Kyle and Madison, and hanging out with friends.

 

My name is Rico and I’m the mechanic here at Matthews. I originally started in 2013 and I like the Bossman and people here and it’s just a good place to be. My favorite plant is the Shi Shi – I have several of them at home. When I’m not working, I enjoy playing with my granddaughters.

Hi, my name is David and I am the Irrigation Foreman at Matthews Landscape & Pest. I was the second employee ever hired and have been here from the beginning, serving in all aspects of the business. I specialize in irrigation, but also enjoy working on landscape lighting, fountains, and water features. I live in Shreveport with Kim and our two sons.

 

I’m JR and I started here in May of 2017 as a fert tech. Working at Matthews is good because of the pay and being on my own when doing job routes. Outside of work, I enjoy hanging out with my family, being outdoors, traveling, listening to music, and going to concerts with my wife.

 

My name is Rolando, or Rolo for short. I’m one of the Crew Leaders at Matthews and have been here since January 2017. My favorite thing about working here is all the special people I have met and get to meet. My favorite plant is the Shi Shi. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family.
