One reason to mow your lawn once a week during the growing season is to prevent pests. If you go without mowing for a few weeks and then cut it, you’ll end up with a layer of grass clippings on top (called thatch).

Thatch buildup can trap moisture under it and cause grass issues, but it can also attract bugs like earwigs and spiders underneath it. To prevent this, we recommend mowing once a week. If you do end up with thatch, you can mow over it again to help mulch up the grass clippings into a finer layer. If you have any questions, let us know!
