Stuck Valves

Have you turned your sprinklers on yet? If you haven’t it’s time to start thinking about it. One thing to watch out for though is what we call a stuck value. Your pipes have been sitting with stagnate water in them for months now. It’s not uncommon for algae or other trash to build up in the lines. Usually this trash will blow through the heads or get caught in filters. Sometimes it can get caught inside of your values and cause them to stick in the on position. You will usually know this has happened when the timer says the system is off but the heads are still spraying. The valves are very sensitive and it doesn’t take a lot to leave them in the on position. It isn’t the end of the world and most times they can be cleaned out. In the mean time you will need to shut off the water supply to the irrigation system until you can get them cleaned. Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any questions!
