There are many factors that contribute to a healthy lawn, including proper watering, mowing, and drainage. Another important step to take right now is fertilizing, aka feeding the grass. We use a slow-release granular fertilizer that continues to feed the grass for months after being applied in spring. This promotes thriving, thick, grass that can resist weeds, drought, and other issues it might face.
Our 6-step program focuses heavily on weed prevention and lawn fertilization. The goal is to prevent weeds using quality, well-timed pre-emergents. Next, there are two rounds of slow-release fertilizer to feed the lawn all summer long. Most products only feed for 30–60 days. Our blend lasts for 120 days. Once the weeds are prevented and the grass is growing strong, there is no need for expensive herbicides to kill weeds. The other applications also include insecticides for fire ant control and root-strengthening treatment for the winter months.
