Most everyone has heard of Knockout Roses but do you know what a Drift Rose is?
Drift Roses are in almost all ways the same as Knockouts except for size. Where the Knockouts will get anywhere from 3-6 feet tall, Drifts tend to stay in the 18-24 inch range. Not only is their overall height smaller but so is their leaves and blooms. For easy references they are around 1/3-1/2 the size actually. One way we like to use the Drifts is in annual color spots or for getting a layered look. Some people hate the idea of changing out flowers twice a year. This would be a good time to consider Drifts. They stay low to the ground like flowers do and offer up brights blooms for 9-10 months of the year. The best part is they only have to be planted one time. Another spot we use them in is on the front row of landscapes. By adding another row and using Drifts you can get a layered look and a splash of color. I’m sure you could come up with a ton of different areas to use them other than these but this is a good start! Hope this helps!
