It’s a good time to talk about lawn destroyer bugs and what to look for. Army worms and chinch bugs are prevalent right now, while it’s hot.
Army worms are tiny worms you might see crawling around your lawn or around it on the sidewalk/driveway. These worms eat the actual blade of grass and cause it to thin out and start to disappear. If you see these worms, act fast to start getting rid of them.
Chinch bugs are tiny insects that use their needle-like mouths to suck nutrients from grass blades. This causes the grass to turn brown and usually looks similar to drought damage. This is a big reason why we recommend confirming that your yard is actually suffering from drought. If you start watering more and the cause is chinch bugs, your grass will continue to deteriorate.
