Now that lawns are out of dormancy, we’re seeing lawn fungus like we do every year around this time. There are two main types of fungus here: Brown patch and Take-all root rot. It’s important to know what each looks like so you can start treatment as soon as possible if you have it.

Brown patch: Circular patches that get bigger, yellow or light brown/gray grass, more common in fall

Root rot: Highlighter green grass at first, then uneven patches of thinning or no grass, spreads quickly, more common in spring
