LED vs Traditional Christmas Lights

If your getting ready to install you Christmas Lights this week, there are a few things you should consider when choosing your bulbs.  The traditional or incandescent light that most people are familiar with still have a strong foot hold.  One of the main reason is they are cheaper to purchase.  I hope to give you enough reasons to reconsider this though.  For starter, LED lights burn about 90% less electricity that incandescent bulbs.  Not only is this money saved on the power bill but you also no longer have to worry about tripping breakers or overloaded a circuit.  Another big one for me is the LED comes in a plastic housing so you don’t have to worry about broken glass when, not if, they fall and hit the ground.  The older bulbs are also generally good for 2-3 Christmas seasons before they will burn out.  LED’s on the other had last for 1000’s of hours.  Most people use to not like the blue tint look the lights gave you.  After several years of improvements however, there isn’t a ton of difference in the look anymore.  So if you are thinking about hanging lights this year, REALLY give LED a try!  If you have any questions feel free to ask!
