It’s time for Just the Tip Tuesday! Since the holidays are right around the corner, it’s important to talk about safety. Broken bulbs are common if you handle Christmas lights, so we made a quick guide on dealing with them.

1. UNPLUG THE LIGHTS. This is obvious, but very important. You don’t want to deal with live wires.

2. Put on a pair of work gloves, thick enough to protect you from the glass.

3. Carefully remove the bulb and clean up broken pieces.

4. If the bulb is broken awkwardly, you can use a pair of pliers or a potato! You can cut a potato in half and press it into the socket. Carefully twist it, and the glass should come out with the potato!

5. Replace the bulb with a new one and plug your lights back in.

We hope this was helpful! If you have any questions, let us know!
