Our guide to fall lawn care
Now that we’re finally seeing cooler temperatures, we wanted to share some fall lawn care tips to keep your yard healthy!
Mowing: We recommend mowing every other week after the start of November, just enough to maintain a healthy height.
No major changes: As grass nears dormancy, it’s best not to do anything major that might cause stress, such as dethatching or aerating. Stress right now could interrupt your lawn going into dormancy. Dormancy is important because it’s how grass survives cool weather until spring.
Consider winterizer: If you’re planning on applying a winterizer application, make sure not to use one with nitrogen, as it will encourage growth during the cold weather. This can leave your yard susceptible to frost damage and other diseases. A proper winterizer for warm-season grasses includes mostly potassium, which encourages thick root development.
We hope this helps! If you have any questions or issues, let us know.
