One of the more popular plants you will see in the south is the Knock Out Rose. Knock Out Rose will have two trim cycles: Jan/Feb and August. All of the new blooms develop off new growth and if you do not trim them they will start to get out of control. In August we will cut them back about half size. When you do the cut back it will introduce new growth and causes it to be much fuller. You can use any type of shears.. maybe gloves because they do have thorns.
